Test ride the new BMW GS machines at the National BikeSafe Show 29/30 March

Scheduled for Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March, the 2008 National BikeSafe Show will be held at the Metropolitan Police Training School in Colindale, London, and admission is free.

Enthusiastically supported by BMW Motorrad, other major manufacturers and the motorcycle retail trade, the show is designed to promote skilled and aware riding through the medium of BikeSafe. This means there will be an opportunity for all attending motorcyclists to take free assessment rides in the company of qualified police riding instructors. It is a chance for everyone to identify all those bad little habits they never knew they had!

BMW Motorrad will be making almost all of its 'new generation' range of machines available for the free assessment rides, or individual test rides. These will include the GS adventure sport models – the R1200 GS and R1200 GS Adventure boxer twins, and the all-new F650 GS and F800 GS parallel twins – and most of the current and established street machines. The only requirement is that all riders must bring and show both parts of their UK driving licence when registering for any of the rides.

While the test and assessment rides are in progress there will be numerous displays and interactive activities to keep the whole family entertained, including skid pan demonstrations; race teams; police dog displays; police horses; interactive road traffic collision displays (by the three emergency services); air ambulance helicopters; the Wall of Death; the White Helmets Display Team; motorcycle clubs; classic bikes; prize draws; competitions, and refreshments.

With over 70 exhibitor sites to visit, showgoers will be able to search for, and obtain, plenty of bargain-priced products. However, for the latest developments in innovative motorcycle clothing and accessories, the BMW Motorrad stand will be the place to visit. This year’s show stand features the latest additions to the 2008 high-tech BMW Motorrad Rider Equipment collection, and the very latest in Motorrad luggage options.
