Experienced all-year riders are the most committed and meticulous of motorcyclists. Many accumulate a wardrobe of riding equipment that would be the envy of even the most dedicated retail outlet. However unless they have specific outfits for every climatic eventuality most riders are usually overdressed.
Of course, the ideal garment would be one that copes with everything that seasonal weather can muster – a no compromises suit that protects against the elements and provides safety if the unthinkable happens. The suit would have to be comfortable, safe and weather-proof. Fortunately, BMW’s Rider Equipment collection has come to the rescue once again with its all-new Tourance 2 Suit.
While adopting all of the features that made its predecessor so popular, BMW has redesigned the Tourance 2 suit, taking full advantage of the latest modern fabric technology to develop an all-year round waterproof garment that is both cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The two-piece Tourance 2 suit is made from high-tech, ultra-friction-resistant Dynatec, which is waterproof, windproof and breathable. These properties have been achieved by incorporating a climate-conditioning membrane and integrating it into the suit as a Z-liner. The extended and removable thermo insert – in combination with indirect ventilation via zipped openings in the jacket and trousers – improves climatic comfort and makes the Tourance 2 extremely versatile and perfectly suitable for all-season wear.
To ensure even better riding comfort, the suit is equipped with stretch inserts at the back, elbows, knees and seat. It can also be adjusted for width at the waist, upper-arm, neck, sleeve hem and trouser hem to ensure a more precise and comfortable fit for each individual rider.
The NP safety protectors, developed by BMW Motorrad and certified to EN 1621, protect the rider at the shoulders, elbows, back, hips and knees – where they can be adjusted to two different heights (or even removed). The suit’s shell material has also been doubled in vulnerable areas. To ensure good all-round rider visibility, especially in poor light conditions, large reflective areas are incorporated at the front and back, and there is also a reflective wedge at the trouser hem.
The jacket of the Tourance 2 suit has a fleece collar, four outer pockets (one of which is watertight), a large compartment at the back and two watertight inside pockets. The trousers feature removable braces, as well as two side pockets that can be closed by water resistant zips.
The Tourance 2 Suit is available in unisex sizes XS to XXXL. The trousers are available in black while customers are able to choose from two jacket colours: Navy/Black or Red/Black. BMW Motorrad lettering is printed on the front of the jacket and on the side of the left trouser leg.
