"What will I be riding?"

For your Direct Access course, you’ll have a choice of either the BMW G 650 GS or the F 650 GS. However, if you’re coming to do a Road Skills course, you’re welcome to ride your own bike as long as it’s fully road-legal and insured. We also have a wide range of BMW motorcycles available to hire if you want to try something different, or plan on travelling to BMW Rider Training by car, train or air.

The perfect all-rounder
The F 650 GS combines a confidence-inspiring low seat height and comfortable riding position. The bike is perfectly suited for cruising through the city, gliding along country roads and filtering through traffic. A lower seat (suitable for riders up to 5’4”) can be fitted or a modified bike with lowered suspension (suitable for riders under 5’2”) can be provided.

652cc single –780mm seat height – 53bhp – 199kg

The confident single model
New for 2011, this single-cylinder lightweight all-purpose bike is ideal for newer and less confident riders and seasoned veterans alike. The low seat height and narrow frame is a big hit with shorter riders while the punchy single cylinder engine is flexible and easy to use in all riding situations.

The timeless road bike
The R 1200 R features BMW’s legendary DOHC Boxer flat-twin engine – which has a very easy-to-use spread of power and torque. The comfortable, agile R 1200 R lets you enjoy the ride without distraction. A lower seat height version (suitable for riders below 5’2”) is also available upon prior request.
